Garin Nugroho is an internationally acclaimed Indonesian filmmaker who has been creating works for over 40 years. Phillip Cheah, a world-class film curator and programmer from Singapore, is a co-founder of the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) and a key figure in introducing Southeast Asian cinema to the global stage. In this program, Phillip revisits and reflects on Garin’s short films—works he has followed closely since the very beginning of Garin’s career.
